Did you know that Jim McKissack attended Columbia University? I did not know that, but everyone should visit one of Houston's most unusual and imaginative landmarks, the Orange Show. A Houston blogger visited recently. Click the link to her posting and see a lot of wonderful photos of it.

Jill's World of Research, Reaction, and Millinery: Finally...I got to see the Orange Show!. 2007-Nov-5, by Jill: Really, I actually still do not have any idea about what the show is all about. The facts behind the show are that a man name Jeff McKissack who was born in 1902 and spent the Great Depression in Florida thought oranges were very important. He got a college degree, wanted to work with Thomas Edison, (who declined the opportunity) served in the military for six months, went to Columbia University, went to beauty college, had a worm farm and worked as a postal carrier, AND had a vision for The Greatest Show Ever...The Orange Show!
Glad you liked my post! The Orange show is hoot, and a delight. My great aunt was a Columbia University grad back in the late 1890's. Pretty cool.
